Mosaic RT-1 Road Bike

A pretty dashing dream bike

Built around a Mosaic RT-1 road bike frame, we think this is a damn good-looking road bike, with its ‘fade’ paint finish.
Let’s delve right in and see how we put this together.

This bike involves these components:

  • Tune hubs
  • Hope DCR rims
  • SRAM RED eTap AXS groupset
  • THM carbon crank and stem
  • Carbon Ti chain ring
  • Schmolke carbon seat bar and post
  • Fizik carbon saddle
  • Chris King headset

How did we piece this mosaic together?

The aim of this game was to create a lightweight bike that gave its new owner all the control and comfort he needed for his road rides.

According to Mosaic, the RT-1 “is the pinnacle of what Mosaic has to offer. A crafted blend of oversized internally double butted and thin walled straight gauge tubes make a responsive handling characteristic without losing the quality ride titanium frames are known for while keeping the weight as low as possible.

Schmolke is responsible for the seat bar and post in this build. Made from carbon, these components are lightweight but sturdy enough to take the strain of your road ride.

We looked to Carbon Ti for the chain ring. This awesome brand is renowned for their chainrings. The central body is made from carbon fibre; the teeth are aluminium. All in all, you have not only a really cool piece of componentry, but a lightweight feature to keep this road bike as nimble as possible.

The hubs come from Tune in the Black Forest. The reason we went to this brand is that their parts allow for great performance on the road and can even be used for cyclocross or gravel rides.

And for the remaining components, you’ll no doubt have seen by now that Chris King, SRAM, Fizik, and Hope are all firm favourites in this workshop, for their reliability, durability, and versatility.
