Reilly Spectre Road Bike
Commuting can become a pleasure with the right bike
This Reilly Spectre is one of a few bikes I put together for myself in 2020, and it’s a nippy little commute bike. Here’s what I used for this slick, smart machine.
the build
- Spectre frame set (a medium sized bike frame at 55cm)
- DCR rims and hubs
- Hope bottom blades and headsets
- Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc groupset
- Swissstop – centerlock rotors
- Thomson finishing kit – bar stem and seatpost
Reilly’s Spectre is essentially a road bike with a penchant for country lanes, so it makes for a brilliant bike for simply getting from a to b in a stylish and powerful way. It’s made from a solid billet of 6AL4V titanium and so is very stiff and sleek.
Other components I used here are Hope bottom blades and headsets, plus DCR rims and hubs. These elements give great performance on roads and country lanes and can work well against the elements.
Shimano groupsets are recommended by Reilly themselves, due to the performance being perfect for the road; we used an Ultegra hydraulic disc groupset here.
This is a great bike, and something I can custom build for anyone looking to make their bike commute more meaningful and fulfilling.
